This Isn’t Good Music

This Isn’t Good Music

BEING a big fan of Namibian local musicians, I was excited when I got my hands on Jay-Pee’s latest release ‘I lead, they follow’.

The CD started off well, but by the time I finished listening to track 3 ‘Freedom of speech’, I must admit I was seriously disappointed. In the song he mocks, criticises and belittles ‘The Dogg’ (currently Namibia’s best and most listened to musician).Other then that, the song also contains vulgar language and lyrics that could be disturbing to Christians.I understand that everyone is entitled to freedom of speech, but one would think that the local musicians would stand together in order to break barriers over Namibian borders instead of attacking each other. With Namibia facing so many problems including those of drug abuse, AIDS, crime and so forth, little room should be left for such mockery. The song came across as a desperate attempt from Jay-Pee’s side to publicise himself by using ‘The Dogg’ in his lyrics.I have lost all respect for Jay-Pee as a musician and a person.I hope that ‘The Dogg’ can be a bigger man and a better person by ignoring Jay-Pee’s immature behaviour, then hopefully this childishness will come to an end.I can only pray that Jay-Pee doesn’t lose anymore fans.Fan Of The Dogg OngwedivaIn the song he mocks, criticises and belittles ‘The Dogg’ (currently Namibia’s best and most listened to musician).Other then that, the song also contains vulgar language and lyrics that could be disturbing to Christians.I understand that everyone is entitled to freedom of speech, but one would think that the local musicians would stand together in order to break barriers over Namibian borders instead of attacking each other. With Namibia facing so many problems including those of drug abuse, AIDS, crime and so forth, little room should be left for such mockery. The song came across as a desperate attempt from Jay-Pee’s side to publicise himself by using ‘The Dogg’ in his lyrics.I have lost all respect for Jay-Pee as a musician and a person.I hope that ‘The Dogg’ can be a bigger man and a better person by ignoring Jay-Pee’s immature behaviour, then hopefully this childishness will come to an end.I can only pray that Jay-Pee doesn’t lose anymore fans.Fan Of The Dogg Ongwediva
