ALLOW me to comment on SPYL Secretary General’s comments to order Adenauer out.
It is with deep shame that I note that such statements are uttered by a member of Swapo who has forgotten that the likes of Swapo, and numerous other political movements were accorded avenues as opposition parties or guerrilla movements by sympathising countries to give them a credible voice not long ago. People like Dr Ngurare must never be allowed to go unpunished for their ungodly and miscalculated attacks that are fruits of their political hunger. Just because Namibians are silent about your negative comments, does not mean we are pleased with what you say. Please, truth does not expire, Namibians know what is happening, and it’s just a matter of time before people get fed up with your cacophony. We know the actual reality in Namibia, and truth is incontrovertible. You may attack it with malice, you may choose to be ignorant about it or even deride it, but, in the end, there it is. The bitter truth shall always stand. We know why you are doing it, that is the problem when people adopt a political system without a clear purpose other than self-enrichment. The result is bitter, you become automatons and you cease to grow. We also know that the likes of SPYL, who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind my fellow Namibians, they (SPYL) are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be opposed.I am not surprised by your comments but just a friendly reminder to SPYL and its leader that they ought to remember that the likes of Adolf Hitler and Idi Amin were once seen as messiahs by power hungry people in their countries during their reign, but be warned that just because what you say appears popular with the so called masses, it doesn’t mean that History will not judge you harshly! For your information, many people were like you, their aims were to spit lemon and vinegar on credible institutions but have since left that seat that you occupying for but a short moment.Could you please start doing what we expect you to be doing? Tell us how the Swapo government needs to help the high number of grade 10 failures. Start looking at the exploitative nature of the Swapo party and offer them credible advice. Don’t you see that they are making the already poor Namibian youths poorer? Hasn’t it crossed your mind that hardworking youths subsist on meagre government loans while the kids of Swapo leaders live on scholarships that they do not need to pay back? What is your opinion on the state and quality of education in public schools and perhaps an educated guess will do for a change? Your own people in the Kavango region expect you to help them with creative advice on how to make the Kavango region a competitive region, and not waste time bringing good people down.I now see why Swapo would rather appoint people who went to fight for the country because people like yourself who are newcomers do not know, or has your memory failed you? I thought you knew that UNITA was a rebel movement which was Swapo’s ally in the days gone by, and you also appear not to know that Swapo itself was treated as a rebel movement in the times past but that didn’t make it appear to be a threat to many Namibians then. Just because Swapo is a ruling party today does not give it a license to attack opposition parties for no just cause. If I were you sir, I would exercise what most wise people are doing right now concerning the failed governance of our government and that is , when in doubt whether to speak or to keep quiet, give yourself the benefit of the doubt, and remain silent.I don’t know what the key to success is, but the key to failure is trying to please one’s desire for self righteousness. For the sake of exercising some decency, stop insulting our intelligence.Be informed that those who act like you depend on the premise of sounding politically correct. In case you have forgotten, the unfortunate pillars of political correctness are wilful ignorance and a steadfast refusal to face the truth’.It is unfortunate that we are at a time where telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act but that will not stop us from challenging the powerful and corrupt in a time of national deceit.Let us stand for the truth Namibia, if we do not unite to oppose dictators in training, just remember what Martin Luther King Jnr. once said: the hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict.’
