GOBABIS – A 24-year-old man who is said to be second-in-command of a notorious Gobabis gang known as the ‘Skoonmakers’, died last week in the Katutura State Hospital from two stab wounds to his chest.
Erwin Haoseb, better known as ‘Dollars’ in the Epako township of Gobabis, died last Wednesday in the capital from the two deep stab wounds that were inflicted on him four months ago.His mother, Anastasia Kiwiotis told Nampa in an interview that her son was stabbed twice in the chest with a knife in the Kanaan informal settlement at the beginning of April this year.’Since April, my son was in and out of hospital. That night in April, the Gobabis State Hospital rushed him to the Katutura State Hospital, where he was admitted for two months before the hospital in Windhoek sent him back to Gobabis,’ she explained.Two weeks ago, she said, her son was once again transferred from the Gobabis State Hospital back to the Katutura State Hospital, where he finally died as a result of the stab wounds.According to Kiwiotis, the deceased was on bail of N$500 for a case of robbery, malicious damage to property and theft of N$200.’He also had another pending criminal case of murder dating back to 2010,’ she said, adding that Haoseb was also out on bail of N$500 for that case.In the 2010 murder case, Haoseb and five of his friends allegedly killed Paulus Shitungeni by stabbing him with a sharp object in the chest and in the head. – Nampa
