‘Sunshine’ burns into rookie Tjombe

NESTOR ‘Sunshine’ Tobias said Harry Simon’s manager Anita Tjombe ‘knows nothing about boxing’.

The promoter also said Simon’ s recent fight was a ‘joke’ and damaging to the image of Namibian boxing. He said Simon is a veteran of the sport and should know better than to go the route he did, which has brought the sport into disrepute. He also called the pair ‘arrogant’ and ‘lacking respect for boxing’.’She (Tjombe) doesn’t know boxing,’ Tobias remarked. ‘People are not stupid. They know if you can’t put up quality then it’s not worth it. That’s why there were so few people at that fight. We have to maintain the standard.’According to Tobias, Tjombe had approached him to promote Simon upon his envisaged return to the ring and that he had turned her down because he is contracted to English promoter Frank Warren. ‘I told her he should come with a letter from Warren. Harry knows the rules,’ he said.Tobias also said Tjombe should approach him and not his boxers in future if she wishes to make use of their services.
