A 40-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself in her shack on Friday.
The Police reported yesterday that Dumeni Johannes was found hanging from an electric cable at her home in the Havana informal settlement.* Members of the Namibian Police’s newly established Tourist Protection Unit on Saturday recovered two bags of tourist luggage from a car in Windhoek’s Puccini Street.The bags had apparently been stolen and were retrieved after a police investigation.The total value of the stolen items was estimated at N$23 000.The implicated vehicle’s registration is N47187W.* Members of the Windhoek City Police on Saturday foiled the plans of two alleged copper wire thieves.The suspects were caught at around 10h00 on Saturday morning while digging a hole in the vicinity of the Northern Industrial Area and removing underground electrical wires with a pick and a spade.* A six-year-old girl died on the gravel road between Otjitambi and Epembe in the Opuwo area on Friday afternoon, after being hit by a car.Police say the girl had been trying to cross the road when she was hit.* Police are still trying to establish the identity of a man who was killed after being hit by three cars in Windhoek on Friday.The accident happened at around 18h00 at Hendrik Witbooi Street in Hochland Park.
