HEAVY rains accompanied by strong winds and hail hit the Okaku constituency in the Oshana Region on Monday, damaging homesteads and uprooting trees.
At Okaku village, an elderly woman, Linda ya Kalomho, had to be sent to hospital after she was hit by a falling brick from her collapsing room.Taimi Iitope is one of the residents of Etilahi village who lost valuable marula trees.’These trees were very important to me, as they were providing me with fruits and marula wine,’ she told The Namibian.Iitope said the storm started around 18h00 on Monday.’It was very strong. There was also strong thunder and lightning,’ she said.
