Stop blaming others: MP

NAMIBIANS should stop blaming everybody else for the lack of development in Africa and in Namibia, Deputy Local and Regional Government Minister Kazenambo Kazenambo said in the National Assembly last week.

‘A portion of self-criticism is necessary to push the development of a country,’ he said.Speaking on the SADC Protocol on Science and Technology, Kazenambo said: ‘We should not blame our failures on the (colonial) past, because only we Namibians can develop our country, others will not do it for us.’We should stop blaming the whites and the colonisers. There exists a culture of blaming – it is time to blame ourselves, our psychology and our mindset.’For example, Namibians could produce their own salt and sell it to Government institutions, he said.In Africa there was the opinion that locally produced goods might not be of the same quality and standard as from Western nations. ‘Let us popularise our own products like mahangu,’ he recommended.
