Stars/BA match at Khomasdal tonight

THE Namibia Football Association yesterday announced that an outstanding MTC Namibia Premier League match between African Stars and Black Africa will be played at the Khomasdal Stadium tonight.

Kick-off is at 19h00. A statement by NFA secretary general Barry Rukoro said an agreement has been reached with African Stars and Black Africa.”This is in the best interest of football, to put aside the ongoing dispute between the two clubs and play the match,” he said. The statement by Rukoro does however not say whether the decision was taken by the Arbitration Board the NFA had appointed or whether it was reached among the clubs themselves.Rukoro could not be reached for comment yesterday as he was in meetings, according to his secretary.Stars sources told The Namibian Sport that the match will only be played on three conditions: entrance should be free of charge, Stars should be paid N$12 000 for going through all the trouble of protests and eventually the Arbitration Board, and League Administrator Tovey //Hoebeb should be removed from the position.//Hoebeb was also not available for comment yesterday.Stars were unhappy when BA abandoned the match and the Namibia Premier League (NPL) found BA not guilty on charges of bringing the game into disrepute.”The NFA wishes to thank the two clubs, particularly African Stars, for their obvious commitment to the growth and preserving the good name of our game,” Rukoro’s statement said.A statement by NFA secretary general Barry Rukoro said an agreement has been reached with African Stars and Black Africa.”This is in the best interest of football, to put aside the ongoing dispute between the two clubs and play the match,” he said. The statement by Rukoro does however not say whether the decision was taken by the Arbitration Board the NFA had appointed or whether it was reached among the clubs themselves.Rukoro could not be reached for comment yesterday as he was in meetings, according to his secretary.Stars sources told The Namibian Sport that the match will only be played on three conditions: entrance should be free of charge, Stars should be paid N$12 000 for going through all the trouble of protests and eventually the Arbitration Board, and League Administrator Tovey //Hoebeb should be removed from the position.//Hoebeb was also not available for comment yesterday.Stars were unhappy when BA abandoned the match and the Namibia Premier League (NPL) found BA not guilty on charges of bringing the game into disrepute.”The NFA wishes to thank the two clubs, particularly African Stars, for their obvious commitment to the growth and preserving the good name of our game,” Rukoro’s statement said.
