KEETMANSHOOP – Several employers in the Karas and Hardap Regions have failed to submit their employee compensation fund (ECF) wage return forms to the Social Security Commission (SSC).
Head of the Keetmanshoop SSC office, Charles Platt, has called on employers who have not submitted their wage return forms to do so, failure to which they would be charged interest for the late return of the forms. The ECF is used to assist employees when they are injured at the workplace and covers medical, funeral and pension cost, as well as loss of earnings while registered with the Social Security Commission.Platt also urged companies vying for tenders allocated by the Tender Board to apply for good standing certificates well in advance. The Tender Board requires companies vying for tenders to submit these certificates with their tender applications to serve as proof that they are registered with, and up to date with their payments with the commission.”We are sometimes faced with a lot of administrative work and it becomes troublesome when companies approach us on the brink of the deadline. They should at least approach us three days in advance,” Platt said.He said companies often blame the commission wrongfully for delays caused by them.-NampaThe ECF is used to assist employees when they are injured at the workplace and covers medical, funeral and pension cost, as well as loss of earnings while registered with the Social Security Commission.Platt also urged companies vying for tenders allocated by the Tender Board to apply for good standing certificates well in advance. The Tender Board requires companies vying for tenders to submit these certificates with their tender applications to serve as proof that they are registered with, and up to date with their payments with the commission.”We are sometimes faced with a lot of administrative work and it becomes troublesome when companies approach us on the brink of the deadline. They should at least approach us three days in advance,” Platt said.He said companies often blame the commission wrongfully for delays caused by them.-Nampa
