South Korea signs South Africa coal deal

SEOUL – At least two South Korean power companies have signed contracts for 1,25 million tonnes of South African coal in 2008 from more than one supplier, industry sources said yesterday.

State-run Korea South East Power Corp (KOSEP) has renewed its contract for 500 000 tonnes of South African coal, a company source said, while declining to confirm the price and suppliers.
