I had to stand for an hour waiting for my document to be certified while police officers were attending to their personal issues. The distance between locations is very far especially if you are at Olefa and and you want to go the business centre or from Oukwa to business centre or at Okalonda and Anamulenge to the town centre. Please authorise 1 – 2 taxis to operate in the town. We are in need of local transport.* I REALLY want to know what the Government is doing. It is 21 years since Independence but we in Otamanzi district in Ongandjera don’t have tap water. We are still drinking borehole water! Please help us!
* PLEASE I am not happy with the lawmakers of our country after 20 years. Why do we have laws if we can’t prevent alcohol, drugs and crime in Namibia? In Omaheke Region the youth are the ones who are drinking and killing each other. Why do we have the Police, Defence Force and Municipality? To work together to control the town. A young man was stabbed 15 times. I need to ask the Regional Commander to close down the clubs and shebeens at 22h00 like they did in the December holidays please. We also need a police station closer to the people. The one at Baikamp is not close to Epako.Politics* AS much as I agree with Gwen Lister’s editorial blaming Africa’s leaders for pretty much everything; I can only say Africa chooses and deserves the leaders it elects. That is the hard truth of it all. It’s because they can do what they like and because most don’t object, they get away with it. George.Education* DR Ibraham Iyambo, we the Namibian students studying at the University of the Western Cape would like to express our grave concern over the delays in payments of loans which the Ministry offers to students. These loans are normally approved in January but the actual payment is only made around May. And this year it is worse because until today payments have not yet been made. The university is closing this very week due to the Fifa Soccer World cup to be played. Moreover, how does the Ministry expect us to survive from January, when the university calendar starts till May? Because some of us came straight from Grade 12 without any financial means to sustain our basic needs. We hope this issue will receive your urgent attention.

The Central Hospital nurses quarters are occupied by illegal tenants. Just imagine someone working for the Catholic Hospital occupying a room there or someone working in Caprivi but having a room there which he uses whenever he is in Windhoek.. One wonders whether these tenants are paying and if so to whom? The Hospital management said they failed to remove these people. PS please look into this matter!* LAST week I went to visit a nurse friend at their accommodation at Okankolo Clinic in Oshikoto. I smelled a very bad smell while in his room. When I asked what was wrong, he showed me their toilet. You can’t believe what is there. Dirty water leaking from the toilet pot is all over the whole floor. He said its been many days without the sewage being emptied. In addition, the whole clinic area smells badly of sewage. It’s a bad health hazard at Okankolo Clinic. They still use the old block while the new clinic is getting old without being used since its completion in January. How could they chase me without communicating the time I needed to get a learner’s licence at the NaTIS office. Local filmmakers cannot just work in any country because of stringent rules in those countries.
