SMS Of The Day
*IMAGINE if those flatbed wagons that derailed close to Dune 7 were loaded with radioactive material or even ‘only’ acid for the mines. How many millions worth of damage would that have been done? And who would pay?

Action Please*HAS anyone bothered to tell Robbie Savage that Hage Geingob has won?*I CALL upon our nation to demonstrate against the human rights abuses committed against this nation by the ministry of Home Affairs. Please Lord, what else can we do? Poor administration, rude staff, do not care attitude. Some of us tried the Ombudsman but that office is toothless. Where else can we go? The Namibian do something please.Food for Thought*HAGE Geingob’s victory is a victory for Swapo and not for all of us. Geingob had been their party’s VP all along; after all, what is new? Despite all this Swapo remains the same, incapable of controlling the economy, reducing unemployment, curbing corruption etc., the same heartless and inconsiderate regime.*WHO will protect this nation; our soldiers are leaving the bases to be out living members for fear that their housing allowances will be cut off. Who will be in the bases now for protection?* ALPHEUS !Naruseb, land redistribution through resettlement is not fair. Government should buy farms and transform them into communal land so that anyone can go farm there, with a resettlement package of course.Bouquets and Brickbats*NBC, as a Namibian I liked our own country’s movies. Will you please reschedule ‘Remember Eliphas’ part three. I liked the part played by Sophia.*ENOUGH is enough! Show organisers and municipalities running expos, why is it that you don’t want to pay Ma /Gaisa artists just like you pay those guys who lip synch over CDs? We are doing live music with a band but still you are paying backtrack performers large amounts.*DO not marry a person because of his/her property. Marry a person because you love him/her.*UNAM is only interested in distance students’ money. They deliberately keep their assignments unmarked until exam time so that the students don’t qualify for exams. How do they justify unmarked assignments this time of the year? The reason is to fail you so that you keep on paying as you repeat.*TONY Figueira and Imke Rust, thank you for standing up against the Swakopmund Arts Association. Together you have made us proud. Namibians fighting for our environment.
*DERAILMENTS are becoming critical. We have more of these per hauled km in the whole SADC region. Heads must roll, and upgrades and regular maintenance done!Education*WHY do Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (Nimt) students not get refunds from our loans? Our registration fee is more than enough for the stationery that we use.Service Please*MTC, Leo and Telecom. What a shame. No coverage in the Naukluft Park area.*LAWMAKERS of this country, please put an end to the fictitious house prices in Windhoek and the country at large! For how long will the law allow unlawful house prices?*CAN the NSFAF please explain to the nation why the loans are paid late in the year. When you pay the loans in October or November it totally defeats the purposes of the loan. The loan is supposed to cover accommodation, transport, tuition fees and books for students. How are the students expected to cover these expenses? Please change the system. In January people must be able to know who has a GRN loan. All the successful candidates must have their award letters, by end of May all the accounts must be paid so that all the other expenses can be covered. NSFAF, please revisit the approach.*NAMIBIA Contract Haulage, you need to improve the process of registration for journeys. People wait in lines for a long time. There is no customer service.*FNB Namibia must please do something about their ATM services here in Otjiwarongo. It’s always out of order at month end.*GAME is a popular shopping centre in Windhoek but the toilet doors have broken locks and are dirty. Enjoy your Christmas shopping!*RUNDU police station, please improve your service! People come to report housebreaking cases at 06h00, you arrive at the scene of crime at 10h00. CID comes at 15h30. I think there is no commander at this station. If there is one he must be replaced.
*I APPLIED for cell phone banking at Swakopmund Standard Bank on three different occasions. Up to now I haven’t received any info of my account. My forms are probably in the rubbish bin. We need that service urgently.- Oom Slow*BANK of Namibia, please make it clear as to why you stopped people who don’t want to take part in the recruitment network of Gold Prime Time but wanted to buy gold from them? Is that also in your jurisdiction to decide on someone’s investment priority? As Bank of Namibia, are you against the company network programme or the products the business are offering? If Bank of Namibia doesn’t want people to take part in any investment products of their choice like that of Gold Prime Time in a free market economy, is that constitutionally and democratically right?*NABTA, can you please tell your taxi drivers who are overcharging between Okamwandi-Oshigambo and Onamukulo to stop this? Most are charging customers by tripling the price. We also need roadblocks at Oshigambo. Nampol you are sleeping. Control the road please. Imagine three people sitting in front and five people in the back of a sedan. Taxi drivers are putting our lives at risk while we are paying high prices.*MINISTRY of Works, we need clarity on transport costs when travelling from Windhoek to Rundu. We are paying N$190. The last I recall, the ministry approved a 10 percent increment on the N$150 fee, meaning it should be N$165. We need clarity as we are being robbed by long distance drivers.Labour*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba, you asked the teachers to go back to school because of a fake agreement. Could you please be kind and instruct your accounting officers to give back pay to the public servants if it was real negotiations and a real agreement.*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba and Abraham Iyambo, you will never know how it feels to pay rent, use taxis, pay for doctors and then there’s just a few dollars left for soap, lotion and roll-on. No food can be bought! No washing powder, toothpaste etc. I am honest! How can I teach to deliver?*HOME Affairs, I wonder why people don’t want to be redeployed. Is it because they are renting out GRN houses while fellow employees don’t have accommodation? Please let’s face it; we are here to serve the public, anywhere in Namibia.*WE need help! We are working for G4S but we die in hot cars. The window is closed with no air ventilation and no air conditioning in the car. We need help from GRN please.*TEACHERS in Kavango Region have been attending workshops since 2011 but up to now they never received their claims. The amounts of money range from N$100 to N$200 for each workshop. Last year some teachers used their own transport to attend workshops. Facilitators told them to claim rate two but up to now nothing. Maybe they will get their money tomorrow or next year. The question is: Why does it take so long to pay teachers who attend workshops in Kavango? It is a different story for officers who claim a lot of money in advance before travelling.*I THINK it’s unfair on Namibians if certain night clubs employ foreign workers while we have Namibians who can do the job. The Ministry of Home Affairs should look into this because these people do not have permits.*MINISTER of Trade, please constitute a team to look into the practices underway at the SME Bank. Namibia does not tolerate xenophobia and we embrace regional integration and cooperation, but it should not be at the peril of Namibians. The executive management team, mostly foreign, runs this bank like a cuca shop. They threaten staff. Even positions of IT technicians are reserved for foreigners while we have graduates roaming the streets. We are watching.Lost and Found*I HAVE the ID of Seth Boois. Please come collect at counter six, City of Windhoek, cash hall.*I FOUND the ID of Justine Rooinasie. Call 081-821 5751.*KALENGA Lamek, born at Etunda and Paulus Rauna Twelifa born at Ondema, I picked up your ID cards. Please call 081-826 8417.*I, MONIKA L Isaacks lost my wallet containing my ID, bank card and other important documents. If found, please call 081-310 8132.In and From the Region*MINISTRY of Health, please help us. We are still paying N$4 for HIV testing at Tamariskia Clinic in Swakopmund.*GIBEON Village Council officials, stop travelling around to pocket S&T. Use our limited financial resources to maintain our poor roads.*COUNCIL of Eengodi Constituency, we need a road from Omalondo to Onanguwo plus clean water. 22 years after independence we are tired of drinking from wells and walking long distances from Onanguwo, Ofilu and Otula.*OMUNYELE Combined School in Omusati Region, we need electricity at our school. The classrooms were constructed in 1993 with the power plugs and sockets but until now we are just ignored. The power lines just passed our school. The shebeens have power but not our school. Why? It’s 19 years that we have been locked outside development.*I THINK the employees of the Gobabis Municipality have learned a lesson and a very good one indeed. They trusted their future with the wrong people and ignored the advice of their own elected leaders.*EVERY year around this time there is a power outage from 07h00 to 19h00 on Sundays in Grootfontein. Is there an overtime conspiracy? Wasn’t that problem fixed last year? Cenored explain please.
