*SWAPO, as ruling party, is supposed to be the guardian of our country and our natural resources, but everything has become Swapo property. War veterans and struggle kids just want and reconciliation remains on a piece of paper while division creates poverty. It was not only the war veterans that contributed towards Namibian independence. What about the inside vote? Gone and forgotten? Has Swapo the liberator become Swapo the oppressor?

They are making noise and do as it pleases them. Can’t the City of Windhoek do something about these illegal car washes? It’s very disgusting. You can’t even stand outside or walk outside, because there is always running water. We need privacy here in Eveline Street.*WOMAN and child abuse is very high in Namibia. Innocent women are dying day and night, being slaughtered like goats. When will crime stop in Namibia? We want to live and enjoy our lives with our children. From the regions*IS Ongwediva town a private property? Why is it that one person can have many plots and houses? Many houses are just for renting. We want houses to buy. Renting must only come in when we all have houses. Otherwise Swapo will lose my vote.- Homeless Swapo memberPolitics*THE election of people whose political allegiance and loyalty to Swapo are questionable and will affect the party in the future. Swapo appointed a technical committee during the last by-election to counter the opposition and Ben Katamila, whose group rebelled against the party then, are now in control of the district and instigated the purge against those viewed as enemies.*WITH due respect, why do we read now and then in newspapers about Swapo nullifying regional elections. This state of affairs is becoming too monotonous. And it is only occurring a lot during the reign of Secretary General Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana. Is she the problem and not the way regional elections were conducted? She must respect other comrades and accept that they equally love Swapo just like her.Education*I am a teacher in Windhoek for four years now, but I am not enjoying teaching because of the many distractions among Khomas Region schools. We won’t produce the desired results like other regions. Director, please seek advice from ordinary teachers with regards to the improvement of academic performance.
*TO the ‘children of struggle’ veterans. Stop waiting for the jobs while you know nothing. If you really want jobs, first go to vocational training centres and get knowledge so that it can be easy for you to be employed. For now it seems like you just want to show us that you are more special than us who were not born to veterans.- JuniasHealth Matters*Dr Richard Kamwi and the permanent secretary, are you aware that the newly qualified registered nurses who did a bridging course did not get their appointment letters up to now. It has been seven months.*WHAT privileges do nurses have in this country? They are forever blamed for the faults/negligence of doctors. Please minister Richard Kamwi if you are going to keep blaming nurses, then do the same to some so-called doctors you employ because they don’t know what they do and we nurses work according to our scope of practice.*RESHUFFLE also finance people in the regional offices of the Ministry of Health. It is becoming unbearable for regional management team members to be told by senior accountants and accountants without qualifications that they can handle millions of dollars. No economising meetings, everything is done on an ad hoc basis. Activities are cut because the so-called ‘experts’ in finance predict that the budget will not allow it. Staff members appointed only get correct salaries after four months and S&T money is controlled by them and only certain people including them, can claim rate one. Very frustrating.Union elections*WHY are the regional Napwu structures, especially the regional executive committees, refusing to follow the Napwu constitution on congress nominations and elections? They are misleading the members by forcing nominations from regional structures while the union constitution clearly state that the ‘Congress shall nominate and elect’. What is the fear and whom are they trying hard to rescue by giving a free through pass? Labour Commissioner’s office and NUNW should intervene at the Napwu congress to see to it that correct procedures are followed.- Fully paid-up memberLabour Issues*PUBLIC Service Commission is dysfunctional. Who oversee the duties and responsibilities of the commission who neglect their duties with regard to recommendations by interview panels for successful candidate appointments? We were interviewed last year August 2011 by Ministry of Education at Mariental for internal posts of clerical assistants and we were told to wait by human resource officials at Mariental office since they are also still waiting on the commission for recommendations made. To our disappointment we see job seekers applying from outside and being appointed whilst we have been waiting for a year now. Are we not entitled to be informed of any outcome by PSC? May the Ombudsman or ACC investigate and inform us publicly whether the positions were frozen whilst some interviewed for labourers, drivers and cleaners during same period were appointed?- Disappointed candidate Entertainment*WHY is the public cinema only in Windhoek? We from other towns are always left out when the latest movies are screened. They should consider cinemas for towns like Otjiwarongo and Rundu.Service Please*HOME Affairs and Immigration is the most disorganised ministry in Africa. It’s worse than Somalia. My study permit expired in February 2012 and it’s not been renewed up to now. Shame. *CAN someone tell the Polytechnic to stop robbing students by charging students N$200 for a cancellation of a subject for a single study guide which cost only N$40. This is daylight robbery.*ONE Africa’s programmes are so boring. Bring back wrestling and good movies. Not just BBC world news.
