Thanks* I WANT to congratulate Councillor Amutenya Ndahafa for the work he has done for the people in our Uuvudhiya constituency. Keep up the good work. You are a good leader.
* I MUST congratulate The Namibian team for this sms system. Crime and cops* I THINK laws must be tightened to deal with school children carrying and using dangerous weapons. We should also address the issue of youth gangs, such as DC and D-Unit before more lives are lost. I am 23 years and own a firearm. To be honest, if one of the DC or D-unit gangs messes with me I WILL USE IT. They think they are untouchables. I see them around nightclubs messing with other people. So the Police should do something before this turns out bad. I am not the only one who feels this way.* THIS boy (pupil accused of fatally stabbing another pupil with a screw- driver) should get a very stiff sentence. Teachers, parents and community members must teach children about the dangers of violence. Schools are supposed to be safe. What happened to the security guards who must search everyone who enters the school premises at the gates? That boy must stay in jail.* I THINK its about time that Government builds juvenile prisons! Teenagers kill and get away with it!* WHY is it that City Police are doing nothing in the Vaalhoek area of Khomasdal? You find houses converted into illegal shebeens selling drugs and alcohol. Big bottle store owners offload alcohol to sell after hours. They even sell it to school kids in school uniforms during school hours.* THERE are equally experienced officers in NamPol able to solve the B1 case. Therefore, forget about the bygones and let’s live in the present.* PLEASE bring back Neels Becker to help catch the B1 Butcher.* I DON’T understand why the Ministry of Safety and Security and the City of Windhoek ignore our safety concerns. We told them that Dorado Park is no longer safe. Why don’t they deploy the army, the police force, including city police 24 hours a day to ensure our safety or is the ministry only there to ensure the safety of the President and ministers?* CELLPHONE theft: N$5 00 bail! Killers and rapists get only N$1 000. We are encouraging them to kill and rape! Judges PLEASE do something while there is still time. Tomorrow it will be your own sons or daughters! What will be your action?– FennieCommunication* MULTICHOICE NAMIBIA’S RESPONSE TO SMS COMPLAINTS ABOUT REPEATING MOVIES ON DSTV: Programme repeats are an integral part of the television environment. Channel providers internationally repeat movies and programmes to allow viewers to plan viewing time at their convenience. The purchasing of programme and movie rights is based on a model whereby programmes and movies are purchased for a certain number of screenings. This allows for the movies or programmes to be shown at different time slots to allow viewers a choice of when they would like to watch the movie. Repeats in the case of a multi-channel environment allow subscribers not to miss out in instances where two or three interesting programmes are flighted at the same time. They also enable subscribers to plan their viewing time much better.* DOES the NBC Damara-Nama service have a contract with Old Mutual to sell group scheme products on its airwaves? Are these advertisements paid for? If not, can other insurance companies also be part of this ‘special’ deal?* I WOULD like to know why NBC’s Setswana radio does not show respect to the Sekgalagadi speaking Namibians. On Fridays the Setswana radio broadcasts in Sekgalagadi for 30 minutes. Sekgalagadi is a dialect of Setswana and most Batswana also speak and understand Sekgalagadi. So, why is the Sekgalagadi language only broadcast on Fridays and for 30 minutes? Are Bakgalagadi second class citizens? Why don’t they broadcast Sekgalagadi language every day. Why is our language being treated inferior to Setswana.* WHY are the SAN people living in Talismanus, the greater Omaheke, Khomas, Kavango and Caprivi Regions not receiving the signal of their language service. – Redecker Tjirimuje* BRAUNFELS in the Khorixas district has not had MTC reception for about two months. MTC please do something, we are suffering or do you want us to demonstrate or join or support your rivals CELL ONE?What’s in a name?* I JUST want to say thank you to the CEO of the NRU for removing the Biltongboere nickname from the national rugby team. We are a national team not a boere team. This should’ve done a long time ago – IC Feris* BILTONGBOERE is not bad since the word boere does not necessarily refer to white. I would go with the name Kudus! New Zealand is not a black country, but they are referred to as ALL BLACKS. How about that! Don’t tell me its because of the black jerseys.– Dixi Ockhies* IT’S a shame how quickly the so-called rugby bosses can act on less important issues, yet they fail to get their house in order! Christo sort out the theft and corruption in the union and leave the Biltongboere to play rugby! – I’m NOT White* YOU guys always drag politics into everything. Namibia is known for its biltong. The name is not racist and I am black.Road rage* I WOULD like to express my concerns about the taxi drivers between Ondangwa and Omuthiya. They are still overloading plus speeding and some have bad manners. I’m asking the Namibian traffic police to address this.* CAN the road between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay be widened to make it a double lane road. This will reduce accidents on this road.* TSANDI CONSTITUENCY. Why are the clinic and the hospital built at the same place? Instead of building the clinic at another place like Eemwandi, Elondo, they decided to construct it where the hospital is.* I THINK those who say the Government has constructed more tarred roads in the North should visit the area and see for themselves. There are only a few newly built roads.* WHY are municipal buses allowed to overload. What if an accident occurs? – SamPolitics* IF the road between Oshakati and Omungwelume remains untarred, we will not participate in the next elections!* IS the Swapo Party Youth League not the the youth? Comrade Kapia, Walenga and many more seem to be in the wrong league. Please give us, the Swapo youth, a chance. We can do better!* I AM very disappointed in the CoD. I thought the recent CoD congress was to address the infighting in the party. I was expecting the leadership to come out of the congress united to prepare for the 2009 elections. What is the new Secretary General doing? Why did they suspend Kalimbu? We want people who are loyal to the party not opportunistic.* DOES the President of CoD want to embarrass himself? Why is he not taking decisions? The party is in a critical state. The President must identify his strong fellow democrats to take the party to people. People want to hear and see the party. The star must shine. The young people who are being suspended are the people who can do the work.* AFRICAN UNION: It is a pity that Mr Ngurare wasted time deliberating on colonialism during the NBC Talk of the Nation discussion on Monday night. The topic was African Union not colonialism.* IF we keep going on about grouping the different countries of Africa and in the end this this formation is approved, I would rather have it called GREAT TRIBES of AFRICA or something similar. At least then it shows and reminds us and the world of the true meaning of being African. United States of Africa is just not original and says nothing about the African people. – GK* JUST wondering about the situation in Zimbwabe. If Mugabe was a white person treating the people of Zimbabwe the way he does, there would have been an outcry from the African leaders, even going as far as threatening sanctions. It seems okay for Africa when an African leader oppresses their own.Health issues* IF hospital cleaners do not want to do their jobs, they must be fired. There are lots of willing people looking for work. And, as for the pigs who strew rubbish all around the nurses home and hospital, I can only say that they are filthy themselves.* STATE DOCTORS: It appears that a vet (animal doctor) is more valued in this country than a proper medical doctor who treats people. Vets get much more remuneration than medical doctors. The vets get a very good salary and on top of that they get a proper market-related car allowance. We doctors get much less without proper allowances but we all work for Government. We once raised the state of our salaries with the PS who thinks were are being unreasonable. Just because he takes home a decent salary with a proper car and a housing allowance he does not take our complaints serious.* WE State medical doctors are facing lots of challenges. We’re overworked, are working under poor conditions, which are at times unbearable.* A VETERINARY doctor in the first year of employment earns about two times more than a medical doctor. This is an indication of how our priorities are placed as a country so the problems in the Ministry of Health and Social Services should not surprise us.Bread and butter issues* PLEASE GIPF, give us pay us out half of our pension money so that we can settle our house bonds for our children, because insurance does not want to cover us because of our HIV status.* THE Government should allow HIV-positive civil servants with no dependants to benefit from their pension while alive, since some will not reach the age of 60 to benefit. For those with dependants, a certain percentage can be paid out. If they can’t enjoy their hard-earned investments, who will.* I WOULD like to know from the Social Security Commission why the workers of 24/7 security company are not issued with SSC cards?* WHY are the subsistence and travel allowance not the same for teachers and other civil servants?* THE petrol prices are going up. So must the monthly pay for petrol attendants.* THE petrol prices have gone up and the prices of commodities are set to follow suit soon. The municipalities have or are also increasing their prices this month. The nation is getting hungrier and we, the Government employees, are getting poorer. How could they only increase our salaries by five per cent after three years. They must be crazy to think that five per cent is all we need after everything has gone up.General* KATITI pay-out: Whether he is black or white, it was not right to pay him such a hefty amount. He resigned of his own will and did not retire – unless councillors are hiding something. They probably caused him to do so. If they pay him out then he means he did not resign. Shame on you councillors! How many of your rate-paying residents are suffering from dust as a result of untarred streets? Yet you are paying a single person millions for resigning.* NTB chaos: The interviews conducted for CEO should be declared as just another face of corruption! We know many competent experienced Namibians applied.Crime and cops* I THINK laws must be tightened to deal with school children carrying and using dangerous weapons. We should also address the issue of youth gangs, such as DC and D-Unit before more lives are lost. I am 23 years and own a firearm.
