* I FEEL many Namibians in key positions aren’t doing enough. I don’t see radical changes to speed up economic growth for all. We the young people are ready to work and are only waiting for policy guidance and resource accessibility from them. Enough of courtesy calls, wining and dining, designer suits, big ties, tight necks, clean frame less glasses, long pointy shoes, Land Cruisers in the city, etc. We don’t care how smart you look, we want the job done. [SYPL Secretary Elijah] Ngurare is right. It is time to shake up those failing the nation.

Food For Thought
*PLEASE stop with the Communications Bill. We can’t do DNA tests or test for swine flu. Please put taxpayer’s money to serve the people’s needs. * HONOURS to Botwana for standing up for a principle instead of just bending to peer pressure and convenience [on Sudan’s Bashir]. Shame on the rest of the summit in Sirte for selling out the principle of human rights. What do we have an International Court for if we are selective in adhering to it? *WHY can’t our GRN not just drop the charges against the Caprivi secessionists, even if it’s just for humanitarian reasons. It’s becoming boring and simply cruel that after almost 10 years that these Namibian sons still have to tried and found guilty. I’m Setswana speaking and not from their tribe but they have parents, friends and siblings too and I feel their plight. Have mercy! Even the so-called Boers who killed thousands of Namibians are forgiven.Rest In Peace MJ
* THANKS The Namibian newspaper and NBC-TV for informing us about the real Michael Jackson. I was always fed with negative information about this humble man who contributed more than all his critics to the development of the world and mankind. May his soul rest in eternal peace! * IT was and will be Michael Jackson forever. Every step he moved and every speech he made, it shook everybody watching him. His demise brought the world together and his memorial services left us in tears. * NAMIBIA mentioned at Michael’s memorial what an honour. Rest in Peace MJ.* WELL done NBC for the tribute to M Jackson less than 24 hours after his death on Friday night then the live coverage of the memorial – good work.- Robin Tyson* MICHAEL Jackson gave to charity in Namibia. Where are those beneficiaries? Why are they not paying tribute? We want to see them in the papers or TV.* MAY MJ’s soul find solace in our Creator and peace be to his parents, siblings, children, family and the universal fans!
* NEVER have I been affected so much about the death of a person that I never met but only saw on TV and read about in tabloids. And never have I spent so much money in a day on records but today I did and for a reason too. For the greatest artist and performer on earth I did. Rest in peace Michael Jackson!* THANK you very much NBC for broadcasting MJ`s memorial service. If someone says he or she did not cry then it’s a big lie, even my four-year-old was crying. It was really heartbreaking.* NBC we are not from America for you to cut our programmes because of Michael Jackson.* THANKS NBC for showing the memorial service for the late MJ. To me he is a hero and he must be honoured.- Peter ya Kanime* IN Oshiwambo there is a saying that says, ‘one’s death is one’s bread’. So right now the NBC is trying to put bread on the table after MJ’s death. Wow what a great way to make money. I wonder if MJ’s family is aware of this.- ES* ONE Africa TV, please show Michael Jackson’s funeral again, thanks.* THANK you NBC for the live covering of Michael Jackson’s memorial service that was very generous of you. Keep up the good work NBC.* MICHAEL may your soul rest in eternal peace! They tried to destroy you but they didn’t succeed! An Angel has returned home! Heaven must celebrating your return! Rest in peace! – Linda Steyn* BIG thanks to NBC and One Africa for showing us the MJ memorial live. The world has really lost a king. – Penda, Windhoek* IS NBC allowed to sell Michael Jackson visual footage? Do they have intellectual copyright or will they donate the money to a trust fund?Bouquets And Brickbats
* CONGRATULATIONS, Dr Abraham Iyambo, Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, for receiving the biennial Margarita Lizarraga Medal.* MATTHEW Gowaseb, Acting DG of NBC, keep up the good work. I hope you stay longer.* NBC, your TV images, sound and studio are better now. Even videos don’t seem to freeze anymore. The irony, however, is that you did not report on such great improvements. When radio stations were digitalised, you informed your listeners. How do you market your TV?
* AGHH … NBC!Just when we started giving them compliments on their new and organised look for their news segment, they drop a shocker! Unnecessary commercials during the news bulletin!
* HOW can we preach and say Namibia is free from colonialism but still utilise discriminatory laws dating back from the 1940s to 60s permitting people to lose their hard earned properties. * NO morning ‘Talk Show’ and no more ‘Feedback’ programme. Has the NBC lost vision, focus and direction?* FOR us in the North, M and Z (Windhoek) has offered the best, and efficient, service in providing Mitsubishi parts and sending these with couriers. Things went berserk when you opened the Ondangwa branch, where we order a part but can’t get it in five months. Every time you go there or phone to inquire, you will be asked again for a VIN number although be told the part has been ordered.- Desperate customer* THERE are no queues in Bank Windhoek since the retrenchments and they give outstanding service and are always willing to help.- JacobaThat Ad
* CELL One advert. I normally don’t take adverts so seriously, but Cell One’s advert is so low that it embarrasses me. It is a pity that we customers have to be exposed to this kind of advert. I’m client of both networks and I’m sure both can play fair with their products and best show they have. Cell One, stop being so low! Politics
* SHAME on you, Dr [Elijah] Ngurare, which Bible tells you that God does not listen to prayers of opposition parties? All I can do is ask God to forgive you, for you know not what you are saying. We are all God’s children and He loves us all despite our political affiliation and he has time for each one of us. Running The Show
* THE Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture. Please make a difference here at Okahao Youth Training Centre in the Omusati Region. There is no computer for trainees, there’s no job attachment for trainees after training, nor any equipment to show or give any evidence to the trainee what they are used for. – Trainee* WHAT is wrong with the Ministry of Health? Why doesn’t Minister Dr Kamwi visit the State hospital at Grootfontein and see what is going on there. We are suffering please. People are wasting money while others are starving.* CAN Minister [Helmut] Angula explain to the loyal workers of TransNamib, who was responsible for the millions of dollars during the strike? In And From The Regions
* VARIOUS dumping sites on the road between Oshivelo and Casablanca on your way to Ondangwa do not give a good image! Plastic bags are flying in all directions, even towards Etosha National Park which is a threat to wild and domesticated animals, disturbing our visitors and the farmers. Please can we the community, government and various groups work hand in hand to stop this and have a cleaner beautiful Namibia, we all love this country!* I AM a pregnant lady conducting a workshop at the Minen Hotel, Tsumeb. Since our arrival here on Sunday, a couple of us have had no hot water to shower. They had it fixed on Tuesday by lunchtime, but Wednesday morning no hot water again and we’re in the middle of a cold cold winter.* TO the councillor of Etayi constituency, don’t you think there is a need for a clinic at Etayi and the surrounding villages like Onuumba, Omutaku and others or until when are these people going to suffer from a lack of health services? I wonder what you discuss year in and out at your CDC meeting.* PLEASE we need a Home Affairs office in Omungwelume or in Okalongo. Please Hon Hidinwa look into th
is issue as far as decentralisation is concerned. The nation is suffering. – Cde J N M Ndilipunye, Windhoek* AS a rate and taxpayer of Walvis Bay, I believe we deserve the same treatment as other neighbourhoods at Walvis Bay. Here at Narraville, we live near sand dunes. Our roads are not cleaned after the windy weather. Roads are not properly maintained thus becoming damaged. Please Walvis Bay Municipality, improve your service.Education *CAN the Namibian Government, Ministry of Education, in particular, explain why we don’t have books and are using Namcol books which I call the first aid material! What happened to Gamsberg where the books were usually published? Children are suffering because of this.* THE other day I was shocked. I went to (name supplied) secondary school and saw a male and female teacher kissing in the first office from the door. When I asked my child she said those two are always doing that. Minister is that the way and what example are they giving to our kids?Labour Issues
* MINISTRY of Labour should please check Meatco for unfair labour practices against shop stewards that are victimised whenever they stand up for fellow employees.- RHUU* THE Pupkewitz motoring division needs some colouring in their management. One colour doesn’t make sense.Service Please
