SMEs invited to attend fair in Cuba

WINDHOEK – The Ministry of Trade and Industry has invited entrepreneurs, artists, traders, artisans and producers to apply to participate in the 13th International Habano Festival/Commercial Fair in Havana, Cuba in February 2011.

The event is slated for 21 to 25 February, according to an invitation to the event issued by the ministry on Monday.Businesses in the following sectors are encouraged to apply: products related to tobacco, agriculture, machinery, craftwork, plastic art, bibliographies, items for smokers, luxury goods as well as gourmet products.The ministry will cover 50 per cent of an economy class return airfare and provide N$ 1 000 daily subsistence allowance.The ministry will also provide transportation of sample materials with a maximum of 50 kgs.According to the application requirements, the businesses must be registered with the ministry at the Registrar of Companies.’The event is also ideal for technical and commercial exchange among business people, producers and dealers. Business people will be allowed to exhibit and sell their products,’ it stated.The application letter should include company information, reasons for participation and expected outcome.The closing date for applications is 20 December 2010. – Nampa
