Small is beautiful, says Mines and Energy Deputy Minister

THE newly appointed Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Willem Isaacks, has encouraged Karas Region inhabitants to explore small-scale mining.

Speaking at the belated 20th Independence anniversary celebrations at Snyfontein in the South, Isaacks also pledged that some places in the Berseba constituency would soon be connected to the electricity grid.’I am still new at this ministry and still familiarising myself with issues, and I hope that you will be patient, because Government is hard at work to meet your expectations,’ said Isaacks. Highlighting Government’s achievements over the past 20 years, Isaacks said the Namibian Government remained true to its principles of building a solid nation where all citizens lived in harmony with meaningful and productive lives. ‘It’s high time for all of us to commit ourselves to the mission of making a better life in this country for us now and for the future generations of this country,’ he added.He said collective efforts and unity were needed to build the country to a vibrant economic powerhouse. luqman@namibian.com.na
