SKW, Ramblers replay on Sunday

The Premier League match between Ramblers and Cymot SKW that was rained out last Sunday, will be replayed this Sunday, March 9.

The Namibia Premier League yesterday confirmed that the match would be replayed at the Ramblers field at 16h00 on Sunday afternoon and that other Premier League matches scheduled for this weekend had been postponed. The second round of the Premier League was supposed to commence this weekend, but Lorraine Gowaseb of the NPL office said that it had been postponed until the outstanding matches of the first round had been completed. She could not yet give a date for the other outstanding match of the first round, between African Stars and Black Africa, because the NPL was still awaiting a decision regarding their protracted case.Their first round match in December was postponed after Black Africa officials accused the referee Matthew Katjimune of being drunk, although subsequent blood tests later proved that Katjimune was not drunk. The NPL’s disciplinary committee laid a case against Black Africa, but BA won the case on a technicality after the NPL submitted its complaint too late. The NFA appealed against the decision and is still waiting to hear if its appeal was successful or not.The case is, however, expected to be finalised this week and the match is expected to be replayed some time next week.www.namibiasport.com.naThe second round of the Premier League was supposed to commence this weekend, but Lorraine Gowaseb of the NPL office said that it had been postponed until the outstanding matches of the first round had been completed. The NFA appealed against the decision and is still waiting to hear if its appeal was successful or not.The case is, however, expected to be finalised this week and the match is expected to be replayed some time next week.www.namibiasport.com.na
