TWO men died violent deaths in Windhoek over the weekend – one shot and one stabbed – and three armed robberies were reported.
Peter Thomas, age unknown, was stabbed in the neck in Greenwell Matongo, Katutura, early on Friday morning. He was rushed to the Katutura State Hospital where he died. On Saturday just before midnight, a man was shot in the chest in Okuryangava, Katutura. He ran into a nearby house and died there.No arrest has been made yet.Another man, 20 years old, was shot in the chest in Katutura on Saturday while he was walking with his friends. He was rushed to the Katutura State Hospital, where he is reported to be in a stable condition.A person was robbed at gunpoint in Okuryangava at around midnight on Friday. The robber got away with a cellphone, a jacket, jewellery and N$600 in cash. No arrest has been made yet.At about 05h00 on Saturday, four suspects armed with pistols, knives and a tyre lever broke into a house in Katutura and stolen a plasma television, two cellphones, a DVD player and a wristwatch. No arrest has been made yet.On Friday at around 09h00, Licious Akwenye (36) was held at gunpoint by three suspects in Omuvapu Street, Wanaheda. The robber stole his shoes.
