Shocking Sentence

ALLOW me to express my shock and anger at the 10-year sentence that Mr Spangenberg, the ‘Baboon Killer’, received from our courts of law.

Let us be reminded that the deceased was actually a human being! Our justice system is failing us! When a person is convicted of stock theft he or she can be sentenced to a minimum of 20 years’ imprisonment. It is unfair that a human life is seen to be less important than a cow’s.No matter what the circumstances are, stiffer sentences are needed for murder.Our lawmakers should demand nothing less! Concentrating on passing laws that provide stiffer sentence for stock theft shows where our lawmakers’ priorities lie.I propose that someone found guilty of murder should receive no less than 25 years in prison.This should be the minimum! For Mr Spangenberg, I hope that you will never again mistake a black human being for a baboon, because where you are going to spend the next 10 years ‘baboons’ are everywhere!
