They erect shebeens in non-commercial areas. They, like the often-illegal settlers in Palestine, are also a nuisance to their neighbourhood.They, like the Jewish settlers, do not respect the rights of others.They are also protected – up to now – by the government of the day.One has the impression that the local authorities are more than willing to get rid of these places of evil.Some say this is the “African Way” to conduct business and create jobs.In the end, however, there are no jobs created.People are destroyed.Wealth is only created for a few.The rest have to suffer without a chance to get rid of the illegal occupiers.They, like the Arab neighbourhood, were not consulted.On the contrary, they all opposed the idea from the beginning.The government of Israel has started to wind down the settlements in the Gaza Strip.When is the Government of Namibia going to do the same with the shebeens?
