Seeff predicts upturn in property market

SEEFF Properties is looking forward to many more successful years in Namibia, after recently celebrating 25 years of operation in southern Africa.

Since opening the Windhoek branch, Seeff Properties has been one of Namibia’s most prominent property and real estate companies, and has high hopes for the future, despite the current economic downturn.Ockert du Plooy, new principal at Seeff Properties, predicts an upturn in the real estate market.’I see the property market picking up,’ du Plooy says. ‘And we’ve had quite a lot of sales for the month between Windhoek and Swakopmund.’The company’s high expectations are one of the possible reasons for their planned expansions. In addition to the branches in Windhoek and Swakopmund, du Plooy says the company plans to open a new branch in Walvis Bay within the next few months, as well as branches in Oshakati and Angola within the next year. Satellite branches in Gobabis and Okahandja are also on the cards. With a new owner, a new building in Heritage Square, a new upturn in sales, and renewed faith in the market, Seeff Properties looks forward to achieving what they call their ‘big, hairy, audacious goal; to be the first choice agency of more than ninety percent of people surveyed in Namibia by 2010.’ndapwa@namibian.com.na
