ROME – The Italian football league on Tuesday fined Serie A club Roma 25 000 euros after referee Gianluca Paparesta was hit in the face by a coin during Sunday’s derby against Lazio.
Paparesta was struck by the coin thrown from a section full of Roma fans in the east enclosure after awarding a free-kick to Lazio.
