I WOULD like to express my gratitude to the NBC and in particular to its MD for being so vocal in convincing Namibians who own television sets to pay their TV licences.
It is indeed the right thing to do. We all know the NBC has been crying for more funds from Government for a substantial period of time now, while Government is still looking into the matter we can step up and pay our TV licences to enable our broadcaster to robustly continue to operate. In so doing we will in the end enjoy quality programmes and we will have a positive influence in NBC’s business processes. In actual fact we should feel proud that it is ours; we will own it.When I went out to pay my licence following the amnesty I felt much relieved and I now watch my TV with no qualms at all about not having paid for the licence.I would like to urge all Namibians to go and pay – people must take advantage of the amnesty, as it is a very forward-looking initiative and quite a laudable one. With the amnesty in place we can forget the shoddy work of Penduka, which failed us, the entire Namibian nation. We should all know that Vision 2030 depends on what we individually do and what we collectively achieve – we must all make it happen.Paying your TV licence is one way to lay a brick in the construction of the Vision.Ntelamo Ntelamo KhomasdalWe all know the NBC has been crying for more funds from Government for a substantial period of time now, while Government is still looking into the matter we can step up and pay our TV licences to enable our broadcaster to robustly continue to operate. We should all know that Vision 2030 depends on what we individually do and what we collectively achieve – we must all make it happen.Paying your TV licence is one way to lay a brick in the construction of the Vision.Ntelamo Ntelamo Khomasdal
