PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba is to lead a ‘Great Walk against Corruption’ on May 28, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Women’s Action for Development (WAD) said in a joint media statement on Tuesday.
The ACC and WAD, with the full support of the President, have decided to launch the walk which will culminate in a main event at the Parliamentary Gardens, where Pohamba will deliver a keynote address.The event will be held under the theme: ‘Join the Fight against Corruption for a Prosperous Namibia’.Prime Minister Nahas Angula, the Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Theo-Ben Gurirab, the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia, Dr Zephaniah Kameeta, the Acting Secretary-General of the National Youth Council (NYC) Mandela Kapere, Namibia’s Chief Justice Peter Shivute and the United Nations’ Resident Co-ordinator, Simon Nhongo will also be part of the event. – Nampa
