A Post Enumeration Survey (PES) on the recently concluded Namibia Household Income and Expenditure Survey (NHIES) was launched in the capital on Thursday.
The PES, aimed at finding out what changes have taken place in selected households in terms of their income and expenditure, was officially launched by the Director General of Namibia’s National Planning Commission, Immanuel Ngatjizeko. The main survey ended on August 31.Ngatjizeko said the PES will be conducted among a smaller sample of the households interviewed during the main survey. To ensure improved quality and reliable data, only the staff who performed best during the main survey have been employed and were given extra training.PES fieldwork started on September 13 and is scheduled to continue until October 29.Ngatjizeko thanked the selected households for their good co-operation which, he said, would ensure the success of the survey.”Only through careful and detailed recordings by the selected households shall we be able to compare changes in their incomes and expenditure,” he said.
