Police urged to be impartial

THE Chief of Police, Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga, has urged the Namibian Police to remain impartial and maintain law and order during this week’s elections.

Addressing a Police at Oshakati on Thursday, Inspector General Ndeitunga thanked the regional force under the command of Commissioner Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa for preventing political violence in the Oshana Region in the past few weeks.He said the crime rate in the Oshana Region has also gone down. ‘The people, even those from other regions, are speaking about the Police of Oshana Region, doing their Police work properly and in the interests of their people. Everywhere I go, I am told the Oshana Police are doing excellent work,’ he complimented them.He reminded the officers that the Police are there to serve all Namibians and visitors to the country irrespective of their colour, gender, beliefs or political affiliations.
