WINDHOEK – The Unit Commander of the Criminal Investigations Unit of the Namibian Police at the Ohangwena Police Station, Warrant Officer Samuel Nangobe, 48, allegedly hanged himself with a rope in a house in the Ohangwena Region on Wednesday.
The incident took place at around 16h00 Deputy Commissioner Hophni Hamufungu said in a media statement. Police investigations continue.
Meanwhile, two cases of stock theft have been reported in Opuwo in the Kunene Region.
Cattle valued at N$3 500 were stolen from the grazing area last week.
A 48-year-old suspect was arrested when he took the cattle to Opuwo for auctioning.

* At the Okambombona village in Opuwo, three suspects were arrested for stealing five heads of cattle from the Okambombona cattle post on Monday at around 12h00.
The value of the cattle is estimated at N$4 600, and the suspects are between 19 and 20-years-old. Police investigations continue.
* An adult woman, Christine Haindaka was chopped with a panga and seriously wounded in the eye, arm and finger by a man at about 22h00 at Mile 10, Rundu on Monday.
* A solar panel valued at N$1 500 was stolen after unknown suspects broke the glass roof of a building at Sikanduko village in Rundu on Monday between 20h00 and 22h00. -Nampa
