A woman (60) from Uukwamatsi village at Okahao has lost N$1,1 million from her bank account over two days.
This is according to a report released by Omusati police commander commissioner Ismael Basson on Sunday.
He says the incident took place between 15 and 17 January.
“The suspect(s) employed an unknown strategy to gain unauthorised access to the victim’s First National Bank (FNB) account,” Basson says.
He says the perpetrator(s) then proceeded to transfer funds to various other FNB accounts, resulting in a substantial financial loss for the complainant.
