THE Otjozondjupa Football League recently elected its new leadership for the 2009/2010 football season.
The league held its annual general meeting under the auspices of the Namibia Football Association (NFA) and elected Roger Kambatuku as its chairman of the committee, while Samuel Jantze was chosen as the vice chairman.Martin Tsaoseb will be in charge of the region’s finances as treasurer, while six additional members were also elected.They are Bruno Uzeb, Donovan Tjombe, Ellis Goseb, Alfonzo Ngutjinazo, Rudolf Hipona and Theo Hunibeb.The AGM was attended by 11 teams of the 12, namely African Lions, Life Fighters, Silent Killers, Dynamos, Chelsea, Otjiwarongo FC, Osire United FC, Air5 Masters FC, Flying Eagles, Cosmos Demo Stars and Golden Fire.The members also reviewed the 2008/2009 football season in the region, while they also accepted new members in Otjiwarongo Football Club, Air Masters FC and Osire United FC.The members also discussed ways on how it should go about in securing additional funding for football activities and a call was made to all prospective sponsors to come to the fore and support the cause of football development.Kambatuku said they also addressed points surrounding the upcoming football season more especially, in regard to the league kick-off dates.
