Otjomuise murder, arson: Family devastated

THE family of the murdered International University of Management (IUM) student – whose body was set on fire over the weekend – is devastated.

Eliakim Kandali Inane (31) was stoned and set alight in Otjomuise between Friday evening and Saturday morning.’This is not nice. He was so young and a student,’ an uncle of his said yesterday.Inane was a final-year full-time Business Information Systems (BIS) student at IUM.By yesterday afternoon, no one had been arrested in connection with his death, Deputy Commissioner Silvanus Nghishidimbwa said. ‘Maybe it’s a customer who did that to him,’ the uncle said.His body was found early Saturday morning by someone collecting firewood.The police found a burned-out taxi several hundred metres from where Inane’s body was found.Inane was believed to have been stoned to death, after which his body was set alight. The taxi found near the scene belonged to Inane’s cousin. Nghishidimbwa on Sunday said that Inane was asked to drive the taxi for the day.
