One gun, a lot of trouble

THREE men were arrested on three different charges at the same bar in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay, on Saturday night.

It started at around 22h45 when a man walked into the People’s Bar with a 9mm Makarov pistol in a waist holster, according to Chief Inspector Chris Kalimbula.The owner of the bar allegedly grabbed the pistol from the man and fired several shots. One person was wounded in the right arm.In an attempt to keep the incident quiet, and to negotiate compensation with the victim, another man was allegedly requested to take the firearm and hide it, according to Kalimbula.The Police were called anyway and rushed to the scene.The owner of the pistol was arrested and charged with handling a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. The shooter was charged with attempted murder, negligent discharge of a firearm and handling a firearm under the influence of alcohol.After tracking down the third man at his home, it came to light that he had accidentally fired a shot in his house too. The gun was confiscated and the third man was arrested on a charge of handling a firearm under the influence of alcohol and defeating the course of justice.
