Official jailed for 20 years for killing girlfriend

OSHAKATI – A 32-year-old man, who killed his 22-year-old girlfriend at Outapi in the Omusati Region by repeatedly stabbing her, was jailed for 20 years on Friday.

Fillipus Nambinga appeared in the Regional Court at Oshakati. Magistrate Paulus Noah sent him to prison for 20 years without the option of a fine.Nambinga stabbed Susan Ileka 18 times – in the chest, stomach, both arms and on the right thigh – on March 9 last year.Ileka died on the spot.He pleaded guilty to the offence.Nambinga reportedly murdered his girlfriend after she decided to end their relationship.Ileka was employed by the Outapi Town Council.Sylsken Makando acted for Nambinga; prosecutor Licius Matota appeared for the State.Magistrate Paulus Noah sent him to prison for 20 years without the option of a fine.Nambinga stabbed Susan Ileka 18 times – in the chest, stomach, both arms and on the right thigh – on March 9 last year.Ileka died on the spot.He pleaded guilty to the offence.Nambinga reportedly murdered his girlfriend after she decided to end their relationship.Ileka was employed by the Outapi Town Council.Sylsken Makando acted for Nambinga; prosecutor Licius Matota appeared for the State.
