NTB appoints CEO, Board

THE Namibia Tourism Board (NTB), responsible for regulating the tourism industry and promoting Namibia as a tourism destination, have a new Chief Executive Officer.

Cabinet has approved the appointment of Digu //Naobeb, who has been acting in the position, as the new CEO of the NTB. The announcement was made by Environment and Tourism Minister Willem Konjore in the capital on Thursday.The position became vacant after former CEO Gideon Shilongo resigned at the end of last year.Shilongo is now the Corporate Affairs Manager at Namibia Breweries.At the same occasion, Konjore also announced the new members of the NTB Board of Directors.They are: Deputy Permanent Secretary in his Ministry Erica Akuenje (Chairperson), Graham Howard (Deputy), Chris Claasen, Annascy Mwanyangapo and Immaculate Sechogele.Howard and Sechogele represent the private sector, Mwanyangapo is from the Ministry of Trade and Industry while Claassen is from the Ministry of Finance.NTB board members are appointed by the Minister responsible for tourism, with Cabinet approval.The announcement was made by Environment and Tourism Minister Willem Konjore in the capital on Thursday.The position became vacant after former CEO Gideon Shilongo resigned at the end of last year.Shilongo is now the Corporate Affairs Manager at Namibia Breweries.At the same occasion, Konjore also announced the new members of the NTB Board of Directors.They are: Deputy Permanent Secretary in his Ministry Erica Akuenje (Chairperson), Graham Howard (Deputy), Chris Claasen, Annascy Mwanyangapo and Immaculate Sechogele.Howard and Sechogele represent the private sector, Mwanyangapo is from the Ministry of Trade and Industry while Claassen is from the Ministry of Finance.NTB board members are appointed by the Minister responsible for tourism, with Cabinet approval.
