Now’s The Time To Listen

SWAPO is digging its own grave by the steady abuse of power in government which makes opposition popular. Unfortunately, Swapo has been reduced to two camps now. Those who fear and distrust the smart thinkers, and wish to draw powers from their handlers (SPYL, NUNW).

These are the ones who appear honest while distorting the truth for Swapo’s own grave mistakes. Secondly, they are in the business of handling a porcupine without disturbing the quills. Thirdly, they are sent with a purpose to distract the nation’s attention from the real issues to non-issues. Please SPYL and your allies, true courage is not the brutal force of vulgar heroes, but the firm resolve of virtue and reason. The second group is made up of those who identify themselves with the people and these are the ones who are being cleansed (Mathew Gowaseb, Bob Kandetu, Martin Shalli and many others) in the name of being unpatriotic and sympathising with the poor. What will remain a source of great pain in Namibia is the inability of our Swapo led government in distinguishing between political and social opposition. Social calls for progress and change are seen as political opposition! I salute those who are being sacrificed for speaking progress and denouncing corruption, and those who have remained loyalists for the sake of feeding their hunger for riches here is what you are: your character is divorced from ethics, your leadership is reduced to management and your politics is nothing but mere cunning and manipulative techniques. My hope is that those who sacrificed their lives for the peace that we enjoy today may have not laboured in vain, and that while there is still time, our leaders will allow their actions to be governed by reason and not greed. If Swapo wants to maintain its grip on power next election, they need to realize that the same courage that made them to stand up and speak before independence is the same courage that calls for them to sit down and listen.
