Note To Our Readers

WE wish to apologise to our readers, advertisers and all supporters for the lateness of The Namibian on the streets yesterday, and the fact that it did not reach all areas of the country timeously.

Last-minute teething problems with the electronics of the press at Free Press Printers on Sunday night caused a delay in our hitting the streets on time. Because The Namibian, in its often turbulent 21-year history, has never missed an edition, many people worked very hard through the night to ensure that there was a newspaper on the streets yesterday, albeit late. They include staff of The Namibian and Free Press Printers and many well wishers. We thank them and also the Namib Times, which offered their assistance when others closed their doors to us.Although not called upon, we sincerely appreciate their gesture.Every big new project comes with its initial ups and downs. These will be ironed out.Today we will dispatch extra copies of our Monday edition to other areas.Thank you, again, to everyone for your understanding, patience and valued support.Because The Namibian, in its often turbulent 21-year history, has never missed an edition, many people worked very hard through the night to ensure that there was a newspaper on the streets yesterday, albeit late. They include staff of The Namibian and Free Press Printers and many well wishers. We thank them and also the Namib Times, which offered their assistance when others closed their doors to us.Although not called upon, we sincerely appreciate their gesture.Every big new project comes with its initial ups and downs. These will be ironed out.Today we will dispatch extra copies of our Monday edition to other areas.Thank you, again, to everyone for your understanding, patience and valued support.
