TAIPEI – Taiwanese health authorities are urging people to avoid talking in lifts as part of efforts to tackle H1N1 flu.

‘Please observe lift etiquette,’ the Centre for Disease Control said in a statement posted on its website late on Tuesday.’Avoid talking while using lifts, and when sneezing cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief or your sleeve.’Meanwhile, a Taiwanese biotech company has said it will start clinical trials of an H1N1 flu vaccine in two weeks.Adimmune Corp, Taiwan’s only human vaccine manufacturer, expects to be able to provide its vaccine to the general public by the middle of November if the human tests proceed without glitches, the Taipei-based China Times said.Adimmune said last month it had started mass production of its H1N1 flu vaccine, triggering criticism for going ahead without awaiting the results of the clinical trials.- Nampa-AFP
