A MEETING of the Karas West Road Board was cancelled yesterday morning after three of its four members failed to show up.
The meeting is held twice a year. Two members must be present to forum a quorum.The Roads Authority’s regional engineer for the Karas Region, Rigobert Kilu, said the absent members claimed they had not been informed of the meeting.But he pointed out that the programme of meetings had been sent to them a year in advance.He said the input of the board members is important to help the RA plan the maintenance of the road network in the region.’In the end they blame the Road Authority, claiming we just decide things on our own,’ he said angrily.The members who failed to turn up for the meeting are Oranjemund Constituency councillor Toivo Nambala, A de Villiers and K de Villiers.luqman@namibian.com.na
