THE Namibia Football Association (NFA) is still to make its final decision on the corporate company that will sponsor the country’s lucrative soccer tournament formerly known as the Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC)/NFA Cup.
Following the collapse of the Namibia Football Consortium (NFC) last year, no official sponsor has been identified for the NFA Cup. NFA spokesman Beau Kauta said three companies have presented proposals to the NFA to sponsor the competition. He said the NFA executive will have a meeting on it. He did not disclose the names of the three companies. The last edition of the coveted NFA Cup was played last year and sponsored by MTC. Civics beat African Stars 1-0 at the Independence Stadium. – Nampa
