NFA rejects Golden Bees appeal case

THE Namibia Football Association (NFA) Appeals Board has dismissed an appeal by Golden Bees Football Club against an organising and competitions committee (OCC) decision that declared its earlier protest invalid.

In their initial protest, Golden Bees claimed that Black Africa used Ole Khiba after he had represented Civics in the early rounds of the same competition, an act that contravenes Fifa rules. In a media statement Wednesday, the NFA Secretariat announced that its Appeals Board, at its meeting on May 30, resolved to dismiss the Golden Bees appeal. The statement said the OCC made the right decision in dismissing the protest, as it was submitted too late to be considered. However, the Appeals Board resolved to fine Black Africa an amount of N$5 000, the maximum allowed under the NFA rules, for using Khiba in the match against Golden Bees.Black Africa have to pay the fine before the cup final or else forfeit their place in the match, the statement read.Meanwhile, the NFA also announced on Wednesday that the announcement of the appointment of a technical director would be made when all issues had been resolved. It said the NFA executive committee had already decided in May on an individual to take up the position. It stated that the parties were now negotiating terms of employment and would make an announcement in due course.- NampaIn a media statement Wednesday, the NFA Secretariat announced that its Appeals Board, at its meeting on May 30, resolved to dismiss the Golden Bees appeal. It stated that the parties were now negotiating terms of employment and would make an announcement in due course.- Nampa
