The Namibian Newspaper Cup is heading for an exciting climax after the second day’s matches in Otjiwarongo on Saturday.
Group A and B are very tight with several teams still in the running, but Hardap have taken a decisive lead in Group C, while Oshana has already booked their semifinal spot in Group D.
In Group A, Omaheke beat Kavango East 3-0, while Kavango West staged a great recovery, scoring a late goal to draw 1-1 against Oshikoto, despite being a man down after having a player sent off in the first half.
The results leave Kavango West and Omaheke on top of Group A on 4 points each, ahead of a mouth-watering clash on Sunday, which will most probably determine the group winners who will progress to the semifinals.
Oshikoto, who are third on 2 points, however, also have an outside chance of topping the group, provided that they beat Kavango East by a big score, and if Kavango West and Omaheke draw their match.

Group B is very tight with three teams still in the running to win the group to progress to the semifinals.
Otjozondjupa went to the top of the log on 4 points with a 3-1 win against //Kharas, while Zambezi kept their hopes alive with a 3-2 win against Khomas.
Zambezi and //Kharas are both on 3 points and still in with a chance of topping the group, with Khomas on 1 point out of the running.
In Sunday’s matches, Otjozondjupa will play Zambezi, while //Kharas will play Khomas.
Hardap took a decisive lead in Group C after beating Omusati 4-1. They now lead the log on 3 points, while Omusati and Kunene are on 1 point each.
Kunene still have a chance of winning the group though, provided they beat Hardap in their match on Sunday.
In Group D, Oshana have already booked their semifinal spot after an impressive 4-1 win against Ohangwena. That was their second win following their 1-0 win against Erongo on Friday, while Erongo and Ohangwena are both on zero points.
