THE Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), the Namibian Manufacturers’ Association (NMA), the Namibian Economic Policy Research Unit (Nepru), the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) together with German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) have launched a new business climate survey.
The Namibian Business and Investment Climate Survey (namBIC) will be conducted by the IPPR and Nepru and marketed by the NCCI and NMA.
According to a press release, the difference from other surveys is that it will give a realistic picture of the current business climate, will be repeated annually, will concentrate on the local market and will have a broad focus of issues.
The survey will be especially useful in public-private dialogue with Government, as it will allow organisations to make well-informed decisions, the statement continues.
Some of the questions asked in the survey will be for example how important crime and theft or the costs of a business licence are to organisations and how satisfied participants are with the current state of their business.
