New approach mooted on national reconciliation

A NAMIBIAN NGO has embarked on what it believes is an innovative way of promoting national reconciliation.

The Forum for the Future (FFF) kicked off a series of workshops this weekend at which people have been invited to discuss a “model” for reconciliation. The FFF’s model for national reconciliation is made up of 10 pillars, among them hard work, loyalty to the Constitution, truth, unity and quality leadership for the country. The co-ordinator of the FFF, Samson Ndeikwila, on Friday evening addressed the first workshop held in Katutura, and he drew an analogy from the Bible about two men who built houses. One man was wise and the other foolish. The wise man built his house on solid ground, the other on soft soil and it crumbled soon after completion.Ndeikwila said his organisation’s model of reconciliation was based on truth as the foundation. He said without the truth Namibians may not work properly together for the future of the country.
