NAMPOST has denied reports that it had entered into a deal with Genie Marketing Concepts to execute a national project called ‘Get Your Own P.O.Box’.
On April 16 Genie Marketing Concepts issued a statement in which it said was to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) this week with NamPost to execute the project. Yesterday Sandra Williams, NamPost spokesperson said that there was no such agreement between NamPost and Genie Marketing Concepts.Williams said although she had recently heard of the proposed signing of an MoU, such a move was premature as the national postal company was still in the process of putting things in place for the envisioned project.Williams said there was, “not even a contract with us and that company.Nothing was formalised, we did not know!” According to Richardine Nekundi, project communication manager for Genie Marketing Concepts, “NamPost phoned on Monday before 17h00 to postpone it.Their CEO was not available.”According to Williams, any arrangement between NamPost and Genie Marketing Concepts was a “non-starter, not after the way they did business yesterday. It was completely unprofessional,” she said.Yesterday Sandra Williams, NamPost spokesperson said that there was no such agreement between NamPost and Genie Marketing Concepts.Williams said although she had recently heard of the proposed signing of an MoU, such a move was premature as the national postal company was still in the process of putting things in place for the envisioned project.Williams said there was, “not even a contract with us and that company.Nothing was formalised, we did not know!” According to Richardine Nekundi, project communication manager for Genie Marketing Concepts, “NamPost phoned on Monday before 17h00 to postpone it.Their CEO was not available.”According to Williams, any arrangement between NamPost and Genie Marketing Concepts was a “non-starter, not after the way they did business yesterday. It was completely unprofessional,” she said.
