THE meaning of democracy can only be vital and more practical in the presence of political will and it is again in the interest of good governance that concerted efforts in addressing public burning issues are attained without any fear both from central government and the opposition parties.
Namibians are good storytellers on a democratic subject but de-facto it remains otherwise. Therefore, I believe is high time that as true Namibians we become more focused and turn to devote most of our time on quality and developmental issues so as to guarantee the socio-economic and political advancement of our nation because Vision 2030 is behind the door.Focusing on destructive and non-productive issues will just ensure Vision 2030 remains a myth.Instead there are lot of issues that we should be tackling as policy makers: issues ranging from media freedom which is being currently threatened with the current setup, labour unrest as a result of political manoeuvres, educational sector non-performance, poor service delivery emanating from poor job profiles and uneven distribution of resources, accelerating property values and unrealistic policies and poor application of M&E strategies amongst others.Economical utilisation and indiscriminate distribution of scarce and limited resources remains the pillar of the central government in saving this nation. In the same vein dialogues with opposition parties will also give meaning to our verbal commitment in strengthening, defending, enhancing and promoting good governance in the best interest of all Namibians. We must rather join hands against all national administrative evils.Jarii Tjeja-Tjatindi Via e-mailTherefore, I believe is high time that as true Namibians we become more focused and turn to devote most of our time on quality and developmental issues so as to guarantee the socio-economic and political advancement of our nation because Vision 2030 is behind the door.Focusing on destructive and non-productive issues will just ensure Vision 2030 remains a myth.Instead there are lot of issues that we should be tackling as policy makers: issues ranging from media freedom which is being currently threatened with the current setup, labour unrest as a result of political manoeuvres, educational sector non-performance, poor service delivery emanating from poor job profiles and uneven distribution of resources, accelerating property values and unrealistic policies and poor application of M&E strategies amongst others.Economical utilisation and indiscriminate distribution of scarce and limited resources remains the pillar of the central government in saving this nation. In the same vein dialogues with opposition parties will also give meaning to our verbal commitment in strengthening, defending, enhancing and promoting good governance in the best interest of all Namibians. We must rather join hands against all national administrative evils.Jarii Tjeja-Tjatindi Via e-mail
