Namibian student dies in Russia

A NAMIBIAN man who was studying in Russia died after falling from a building at the Nizhny Novogorad State University earlier this month.

Gerhard Osiike Ndeshipanda Kalimba (29), a second-year information technology student died on April 12. His mother, Hilma Kalimba, told The Namibian that they were told that he fell from a building on the campus.He was admitted to hospital, where he died some hours later.”What caused his fall and how he fell from that building, and which building, is still not known to us,” Kalimba said.His body was sent back to Namibia and he was buried at Ongwediva on Tuesday.Before going to Russia, Kalimba worked for Standard Bank and later the Ministry of Health and Social Services.His mother, Hilma Kalimba, told The Namibian that they were told that he fell from a building on the campus.He was admitted to hospital, where he died some hours later.”What caused his fall and how he fell from that building, and which building, is still not known to us,” Kalimba said.His body was sent back to Namibia and he was buried at Ongwediva on Tuesday.Before going to Russia, Kalimba worked for Standard Bank and later the Ministry of Health and Social Services.
