Namibian model makes waves abroad

The epitome of a world citizen, Anmire Vugs is a Namibian born in Mozambique to a Namibian mother and Dutch father. She has lived in Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and in the Netherlands.

The 24-year-old, who now lives in Holland, is one of the finalists in the Miss Benelux beauty pageant which has contestants from the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg take part and the final event takes place on September 14. She feels very fortunate to have grown up amidst such diversity as this has exposed her to different cultures and has made her a positive, tolerant young woman. ‘Whether you are a businessman or a toilet cleaner, both positions are of equal importance to me because a businessman creates jobs for us and a toilet cleaner provides hygiene for us’, says Anmire. For information on the pageant and how to vote for Anmire in her quest to become the next ‘Queen of the Benelux’, visit these websites: www,queenofthebenelux.com as well as www.missholandnow.com/queen-2012.html.
