NAMIBIAN boxer Frans ‘Rambo’ Hantindi easily shook off South Africa’s Thomas Sadike in their professional welterweight fight on Saturday, a night that also saw other Namibians going past their opponents with ease.
Hantandi, a former World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African welterweight champion, made his intentions clear as the ten-rounder only came to an abrupt finish in the third round. Hantindi after the fight was quoted as saying:”I damaged the guy and I really felt sorry for him.”The blow which knocked out the South African came in a form of an explosive right hook, which proved good enough to put the visitor out of contention.Hantindi has now won 10 fights from a total of 14, with two draws and two losses.Hantindi last year narrowly won his previous fight against South Africa’s Jacob Makareng, who seem to have given him a tougher time than Sadike on Saturday. The Namibian is likely to head for Germany to fight in further professional fights, but his trainer Nestor Tobias, still needs to confirm his participation internationally. In other fights, Namibia’s Wilbeforce Shihepo stopped South Africa’s Joseph Giani in the first round with a knock-out, while Bethuel ‘Tyson’ Ushona knocked out Bonyani Honono in the third round of their six round fight.Kanime Kanime roped in Elvis Ndlovu in the fourth round, resulting into the South African corner throwing in the towel for an initial eight round fight.Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses beat Sadrak Montsho on points, while Gotlieb Shileka wasted no time as he floored Andrew Ravela in only two minutes and 48 seconds in the first round.Hantindi after the fight was quoted as saying:”I damaged the guy and I really felt sorry for him.”The blow which knocked out the South African came in a form of an explosive right hook, which proved good enough to put the visitor out of contention.Hantindi has now won 10 fights from a total of 14, with two draws and two losses.Hantindi last year narrowly won his previous fight against South Africa’s Jacob Makareng, who seem to have given him a tougher time than Sadike on Saturday. The Namibian is likely to head for Germany to fight in further professional fights, but his trainer Nestor Tobias, still needs to confirm his participation internationally. In other fights, Namibia’s Wilbeforce Shihepo stopped South Africa’s Joseph Giani in the first round with a knock-out, while Bethuel ‘Tyson’ Ushona knocked out Bonyani Honono in the third round of their six round fight.Kanime Kanime roped in Elvis Ndlovu in the fourth round, resulting into the South African corner throwing in the towel for an initial eight round fight.Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses beat Sadrak Montsho on points, while Gotlieb Shileka wasted no time as he floored Andrew Ravela in only two minutes and 48 seconds in the first round.
