Association of Oil Marketing Companies in Ghana chief executive Riverson Oppong says Namibia becoming Africa’s energy hub can only happen on the back of good policies and capacity.
According to Oppong, other Africa countries such as Libya and Nigeria had the same opportunity, however, they failed at it.
He said this during a panel discussion at the Oil and Gas Conference in Windhoek on Thursday.
“Namibia has the resources to become the energy hub of Africa. However, it can only happen if the country puts in place the right policies and builds capacity,” said Oppong.
He added that the country should look into policies that speak to the gas sector.
