MTN sees Iran funding at US$1,5 bn

JOHANNESBURG – South African mobile operator MTN’s funding of its operations in Iran will reach US$1,5 billion in 2-3 years, Chief Executive Officer Phutuma Nhleko said yesterday.

MTN said earlier this week that it had reached a deal to take a 49 per cent stake in the Irancell consortium.
